Editing Process

A lot of times you guys ask me how I edit my pictures, or if my pictures are edited and what software do I use to edit my pictures and are all my pictures edited. To make it short, I get a lot of question about editing and while I used to answer all these questions every single time I got one I thought why not make it short and easy and once and for all show an editing process of mine.

First of  all keep in mind that this is one of my heavier edited pictures. Not all of my pictures get a “makeover” like this one. But I do have fun doing it so whatever am I right?

  1. Date: Sep 9, 2016
  2. Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III
  3. Lens: Sigma 35 mm, 1.4
  4. ISO: 100
  5. Aperture: F/2.0
  6. Shutter Speed: 1/1600 second
  7. Editing Software: Adobe Photoshop CS5

The first pictures is the raw file out of camera (usually I don’t have such a good makeup and lighting day and I normally have to fix spots on the skin but this day went great for me).

Second one is the fixed raw file (I changed the green and yellow tones, sharpened the image, and darkened the lighter tones a little bit)

Third one is skin editing (I brought out the lighter tones in the skin and darkened the shadows, make the eyes pop a little more. All in all dodge and burn and a little frequency separation I think)

The last one is after adding colour to the image, or changing colour. Take it as you want. It’s easier if you know from the beginning which style the picture should have and if it’s supposed to work with other pictures in a series or stand alone. I brought a little desaturated feeling to the picture. Added teal Highlights, made the shadows less black and darkened the sky).

I hope this settles the question about my editing process. (And yes I wanted to keep that strand of hair there although it would have been quite easy for me to remove it. I just think it adds to the picture)
